Abstract
AZIS WAHYUDI N. 1981100016. STRUCTURAL STUDY OF THE NOVEL TOTTO CHAN: THE LITTLE GIRL IN THE WINDOW AND THE NOVEL WORLD OF SILENCE: I WAS BORN INTO A WORLD WITHOUT SOUNDS AND TEACHING IN SMP ALAM HARAPAN KITA KLATEN. Thesis. Magister of Language Education Programme, Education and Teacher Training Faculty. Widya Dharma University Klaten. 2023. This research aims to describe the structural in the novels Totto Chan and Dunia Sunyi. For the world of literature, it is hoped that this research can provide input and become material for consideration, that literary works are not only filled with entertainment and a lifestyle, but also pay attention to the content and messages contained in literary works so that the general public can take away a lessons from the literary work. In this research, data collection uses close reading techniques and the instrument in this research is the researcher himself. The basis of this research analysis uses a structural approach. The results of this analysis are concluded as follows. Based on the analysis of the results, it is stated that the educational values in this novel are displayed by the characters in the story. Each character has their own character in the story. The various events experienced by the characters bring positive values that can be emulated. These positive values are educational values that readers can read. Values that are able to develop a character's potential to have spiritual strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble character, and the skills needed by himself and society. The educational values contained in the novel include: the values of simplicity, independence, mutual respect, responsibility, patience, wisdom, friendship, never giving up and working hard, and self-maturation. Of the nine educational values found, this makes changes for the better in the characters in the story. Keywords: Structural Studies and Literature Learning.
