CORRELATION ANALYSIS BETWEEN THE HABIT OF READING LITERARY AND FACTUAL TEXTS WITH STUDENTS’ ACHIEVEMENT OF LEARNING INDONESIAN AT MTs N 6 SLEMAN DAERAH ISTIMEWA YOGYAKARTA ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/2017 Thesis. Master Program of Language Education, Postgraduate Program of Widya Dharma University of Klaten. 2017. This research aims: 1) to analyze correlation between the habit of reading literary text with learning Indonesian achievement, 2) to analyze correlation between the habit of reading factual text with learning Indonesian achievement; and 3) to analyze correlation between the habit of reading literary text and factual text simultaneously with learning Indonesian achievement of students grade VIII in MTs N 6 Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. This research is a survey research with quantitative method. The population in this study all students of class VIII amounted to 160. Samples of 32 students were taken with a simple sample technique / random sampling technique. Data analysis using correlation analysis technique. The result of statistic calculation shows that the value of r for X1 is 0,231, r value for X2 is - 0,063 while simultant value of R for X1 and X2 to Y equal to 0,282. Thus it can be concluded 1) there is no significant correlation between reading habits of literary texts with Indonesian learning achievement, r value of 0,231, level of low category entry relationship; 2) there is no significant correlation between factual text reading habits with Indonesian learning achievement, r value of -0,063, very low category entry level; and 3) there is not significant correlation between reading literature and factual text in Indonesian language learning achievement in MTs Negeri 6 Sleman students, R value is 0,282 , low level of incoming category.
