Abstract

Dewi Weningati, 15 PSC01686. “The Effect of Concept Mapping Strategy On The Skills Of Writing The Description Viewed From Student’s Learning Motivation in the Tenth Grade of State Senior High School 1 Kertek Wonosobo in the Academic Year 2016/2017.” Thesis. Language Education Programme, Graduate Programme, Widya Dharma University klaten, 2017. This Research is aimed to find out : 1)empirical evidence of the skills of writing a description for students who were taught using a concept mapping strategy. Whether students taught with this strategy are better than students taught by lecture methods; 2) whether the skills to write a description of students who have high learning motivation is better than students who are low motivation class; 3) the interaction between the concept mapping strategy with the motivation learning to skills write the description for grade X Students of SMAN 1 Kertek Wonosobo in the Academic Year of 2016/2017. The research was conducted in SMA N 1 Kertek located in village of Bojasari subdistrict Kertek Distric Wonosobo. The sample of this research is a part of the population of students class for grade X MIPA 1 with number of 32 students as control class and class X MIPA 3 total 32 students as experiment class. To test the hypothesis in this study used two way anova test. Considering the result of data analysis, this study can be conclude that students who ara taught by using man mapping strataegy more skillfully to write essay description from the students who are taught by lecture method. Students who have higher learning motivation are more skilled at writing essay descriptions than students with low learning motivation. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that interaction between the learning that using the stategy of maind mapping have a good. There ara significant differents that indicate the benefits of using a concept mapping strategy in learning to write descriptions essay.
