Abstract

DWI PUJI HANDAYANI. 1512104571. The Improvement in Understanding the Economy Major Activities through Creative Problem Solving Method for Class VIII B students of SMP Negeri 1 Karangnongko Klaten in Academic Year 2015/2016 The problem formulation in this research is “ Does Creative Problem Solving (CPS) learning method improve students understanding to increase social science students learning achievement n Econoomy Major Activities’ topic? The specific aims of this study to find out that Creative Problem Solving (CPS) learning method can improve understanding , therefore it is able to improve student achievement in social studies on the topic of Economic Principal Activity This Methods of study was designed using a qualitative approach especially action research plan. The research subjects were students of VII B class SMP Negeri 1 Karangnongko Klaten Academic year 2015/2016 . The conclusion of this study are: There is an improvement in the power of abstraction, activity, creativity, engagement, attention, motivation, and achievement of learning outcomes . Students get excited when the teacher uses cooperative Problem Solving method , there are 86.11 % , of students, can increase motivation 88.89 %, can add their attention of 83.33 % , can improve heir participation 83.33 % there is an excess in social skills aspects about 0.25 %, intellectual skills aspects increased about 0.10 %, group work skills aspect increased 0.37. The quantity of students who pass individually increased from 21 students to 28. Whether, classical pass has increased from 66.67 % to 93.33 %
