Abstract

YANOKE PUTRI DHINI, 1111202673, English Education Study Program, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Widya Dharma University, Klaten, 2015. Thesis: Improving Teaching and Learning English Writing Skill by Implementing Think-Pair Share Technique (A Classroom Action Research at the Seventh Year Students of MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Klaten in Academic Year 2014/2015). The research aims at verifying whether implementing Think - Pair Share technique can improve English writing skill of the seventh year students of MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Klaten in Academic Year 2014/2015. In this research, the writer uses classroom action research. In collecting the data, she did observation, interview, and documentation. Data in this study are got from informants, documents, the process of teaching and learning writing and the assignment of the seventh year students of MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Klaten. The data are analyzed by using interactive model. The finding shows that there is improvement of students’ achievement in writing skill. Most of the students gradually gain good scores at the end of each cycle. The minimal passing grade of English lesson is 67. The mean score in pre- research test is 56.19. While the mean score in test 1 of first cycle is 64.1. Then, the mean score in test 2 of the second cycle is 69.14. So, it can be concluded that Think Pair Share technique can improve the teaching and learning English writing skill at the seventh year students of MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Klaten.
