Improving Reading Comprehension by Applying the SQ3R Learning Model Assisted by the WATTPAD Application at SMK Petrus Kanisius Klaten in the Academic year 2024/2025. Reading comprehension is a crucial skill that enables students to understand, interpret, and analyze written texts effectively. However, many students struggle with comprehending texts due to limited reading strategies and a lack of engaging learning resources. To address this issue, this study applies the SQ3R learning model, which provides a structured approach to reading, and integrates WATTPAD as a digital platform to make the learning process more interactive and relevant to students' interests. Therefore, this study investigates how the combination of the SQ3R learning model and the WATTPAD application can enhance the reading comprehension skills of tenth-grade students at SMK Petrus Kanisius Klaten in the academic year 2024/2025. To achieve this goal, the study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach using both qualitative and quantitative methods. The data collected in this study included students‘ reading comprehension skills, engagement, and the overall teaching and learning process. The sources of data consisted of events, informants, and documents. Data were collected through observations, interviews, documentation, and tests. The qualitative and quantitative data were analyzed through several steps: data collection, data condensation, data display, and the final step: summary. Qualitative data, such as observations and interviews, provided insights into students‘ engagement and responses throughout the teaching and learning process. Documentation served as additional evidence to track their development over time. Quantitative data gathered from score in test results were used to measure students‘ progress in reading comprehension. To ensure the validity of the data, the researcher employed triangulation, including both data triangulation and methodological triangulation. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students' reading comprehension. The average score increased from 67 in the pre-cycle to 74.33 in cycle 1, and further to 80.33 in cycle 2. The result demonstrates that the SQ3R learning model assisted by WATTPAD application media, could improve students‘ reading comprehension skills at SMK Petrus Kanisius Klaten in the academic year 2024/2025 and made the learning process both structured and engaging.
