Abstract
DEWI WIBAWANINGRUM. No. 0911202348. English Education Study Program, The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Widya Dharma University, Klaten, 2016. Thesis: A Descriptive Study on the Students’ Mastery of Vocabulary of the Fifth Year Students of SD N 1 Jimbung Klaten In Academic Year 2014/2015. The problem of the study is: “How is the vocabulary mastery of the fifth year students of SD N 1 Jimbung Klaten in academic year of 2014/2015?”. The aim of the study is to know the students’ mastery of vocabulary of the fifth year students of SD N 1 Jimbung Klaten in academic year of 2014/2015. The writer takes the fifth year students of SD N 1 Jimbung in academic year 2014/2015 as the population. The number of it is 40 students. Therefore, the writer takes all of students as the sample. In getting the data, the writer gives a test that consists of 20 items in the form of multiple choices. In analyzing the data, the writer uses the mean. It is intended to know the students’ mastery of the test on the vocabulary. The result of the study shows that the mean is 65.63. It is a fact that the problem above can be answered. Finally the writer draws the conclusion that the mastery of vocabulary of the fifth year students of SD N 1 Jimbung in academic year 2014/2015 is good.
