Abstract
SRI SUHARTI, 2011200011. English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Widya Dharma Klaten. 2023. Undergraduate Thesis: An Analysis of Translation Procedures in The Subtitle of Moana Movie Soundtrack “Shiny”. The aim of the study is to identify and describe the analysis of translation procedures in the subtitle of Moana Movie Soundtrack “Shiny”. The data were the words, phrases, clauses and sentences of the song lyrics. The source of the data was Shiny song, obtained from the internet. The data were collected through selecting, comparing and identifying. In this study, the researcher also uses descriptive qualitative method to analyze the data. After analyzing all of the data, the researcher showed the result as follows. First, the researcher found ten from the eighteenth types of translation procedures according to Peter Newmark’s theory. Second, the researcher found that transposition is the most dominant type of translation procedures in the subtitle of Moana movie soundtrack “Shiny’’. Third, the researcher analyzed the fifty-two of data containing ten types of translation procedures into the structures of syntax and categorized them into meaning equivalence or inequivalence.
