Abstract

ABSTRACT SUDARSIH. NIM: 1781100045. The Relationship Between Literacy Text Ability and Vocabulary Mastery with Indonesian Language Learning Achievement in Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 2 Karangdowo 2018/2019 Academic Year. Thesis. Language Education Study Program. Graduate Program of Widya Dharma University, Klaten. 2019. The problems in this study are: 1) Is there a relationship between the ability to read literary texts and mastery of vocabulary together with the achievement of Indonesian language learning for Class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Karangdowo in the 2018/2019 academic year? 2) Is there a correlation between the ability to read literary texts with the achievement of Indonesian language learning in Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Karangdowo in the 2018/2019 academic year? 3) Is there a relationship between vocabulary mastery and Indonesian language learning achievement in Class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Karangdowo in the 2018/2019 academic year? This research is survey with korelasional technique. The location of this research is SMP N 2 Karangdowo. This research was conducted in February 2019. The population of this study was all students of class VIII SMP N 2 Karangdowo totaling 150 students. The research sample for class VIII SMP N 2 Karangdowo was 72 students. The sampling technique of this study used a proportional random sampling technique. Data collection in this study were the test and documentation methods. Analysis of the data used in this study is the analysis of initial data with descriptive statistics, prerequisite test final analysis or hypothesis testing. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded. 1) There is a positive relationship between the ability to read literary texts on the learning achievement of Indonesian students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Karangdowo in the 2018/2019 academic year. 2) There is a significant influence between the mastery of vocabulary on the learning achievement of Indonesian students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Karangdowo in the 2018/2019 academic year. 3) There is a significant influence simultaneously between the ability to read literary texts and mastery of vocabulary on student achievement in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Karangdowo 2018/2019 Academic Year.
