Abstract
Hartoyo. NIM 1781100050. The influence of Reading Interest and Skill in making summary to the Indonesian Learning Achievement of the Grade VIII H SMP N 1 Cawas Students in Even Semester of Academic Year 2018/2019. Thesis. Klaten. Language Education Master's Degree Courses. The Graduate Program. University Of Widya Dharma Klaten. 2019 The purpose of this research are, firstly, to find out the relationship of the reading interest to the Indonesian learning achievement, secondly to find out the relationship of the ability in making summary to the Indonesian learning achievement and then to find out the relationship between the reading interest and the ability in making summary to Indonesian learning achievement of the grade VIII H SMP Negeri 1 Cawas students in Even Semester of Academic Year 2018/2019. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 1 Cawas, Klaten, Central Java on the students of grade VIII H in even semester of academic year 2018/2019. The instruments used in this research is documentation and questionnaire with statistical data analysis correlated to product moment. This research also uses Test F which is used to determine whether the independent variables (X1, X2) affect significantly on the dependent variable (Y). Based on the discussion done, the results of the research are; firstly, there is a relationship of the reading interest to the Indonesian learning achievement, it is proved by comparison of the value of the Rcount 0.360 > the Rtabel 0.296. Secondly, there is a relationship of the ability in making summary to the Indonesian learning achievement, it is evidenced by a comparison of the value of the Rcount 0.351 > the Rtabel 0.296. Then there is also the relationship between the reading interest and the ability in making summary to Indonesian learning achievement of the grade VIII H SMP Negeri 1 Cawas students in Even Semester of Academic Year 2018/2019, it is proved by the Fcount (7,631) > Ftabel (3.33).
