Abstract

Universitas Widya Dharma Klaten, Thesis: ANALYSIS OF GEOGRAPHIC ASPECTS OF THE NEEDS OF ORNAMENTAL HANDICRAFT INDUSTRIAL CRAFTS IN TANJUNG VILLAGE, KECAMATAN JUWIRING, KLATEN DISTRICT 2019. The Formulation of the problem in this study are : (1) What are the characteristics of ornamental umbrella entrepreneurs and the structure of the decorative umbrella craft industry (2) What are the geographical aspects that affect the sustainability of the decorative umbrella craft industry. The objectives of this study are: (1) To determine the characteristics of ornamental umbrella entrepreneurs and the structure of decorative umbrella craft industry in Tanjung Village, Juwiring District, Klaten Regency (2) To find out the geographic aspects that affect the sustainability of decorative umbrella craft industry in Tanjung Village, Juwiring District, Klaten Regency. This research is a descriptive research. The data in this study include primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques in this study using interview techniques, observation, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis conducted by descriptive qualitative analysis includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The sampling technique used in this study is the snaw ball sampling technique. Where the researcher or data while knowing the number of respondents in the study. The population in this study amounted to 10 decorative umbrella entrepreneurs while the research sample numbered 5 ornamental umbrella entrepreneurs. The results showed that the development of the decorative umbrella craft industry was influenced by the age of entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial education, the area of land owned by employers, origin of skills, duration of business, reasons for becoming entrepreneurs, umbrella materials and auxiliary materials, types of umbrella production, government intervention and marketing methods. The sustainability of the decorative umbrella craft industry is influenced by geographical aspects where there are 2 aspects, namely physical and non-physical aspects. physical aspects that influence the sustainability of decorative umbrella craft industries, namely location, distance, affordability, spatial linkages, climate and geomorphology. Whereas the non-physical aspects that influence the sustainability of the decorative umbrella industry are human, capital, facilities, accessibility and attractiveness.
