Abstract
MURNIATI. Student number: 1681100004. Improving the Performance of the fifth Grade Teacher in Teaching and Learning Indonesian Language by Using Clinical Supervision Model in State Elementary School 3 Socokangsi in Regional Implementation Unit of Education in Jatinom Subdistict, Klaten Regency in Academic Year 2017/2018. Thesis. Language Education Study Program, Graduate Program, Widya Dharma University, Klaten, 2018. The problem formulation of this research is “Can clinical supervision model improve the performance of the fifth grade teacher in teaching and learning Indonesian language in state elementary school 3 Socokangsi in regional implementation unit of education in Jatinom subdistict, Klaten regency in academic year 2017/2018? The techniques of collecting data are both observation and evaluation which are done when supervision activity takes place in each cycle. The headmaster does supervision to the fifth grade teacher in state elementary school 3 Socokangsi, Jatinom, Klaten when teaching and learning takes place at the time determined at semester 2 in academic year 2017/2018. The clinical supervision is done on 14th May 2017 from 10.00 until 12.00 Western Indonesian time. Based on the result and analysis, it can be concluded that (1) the clinical supervision implementation to the fifth grade teacher of state elementary school 3 Socokangsi can give some improvement on self-confidence in teaching by using various models and methods of teaching and learning; (2) by clinical supervision process the model teacher can apply various abilities of teacher training as a whole and integrated in teaching and learning through input and peers; (3) the model teacher can take lessons and try to reflect, which is as the characteristic of teacher professionalism; (4) the supervisor as peer and model teacher can know and describe clinical supervision in state elementary school 3 Socokangsi adjusted to school condition; (5) by the implementation of clinical supervision there are communication and good relationship between teacher and headmaster; (6) the continuous clinical supervision can improve teacher’s professional competence. Supervision result has a better impact to teacher’s performance; it can be seen from the beginning of cycle where the students are less active in teaching and learning activity, then it improves to be better and at the end it becomes the best in the end of cycle 2.
