Abstract

UNTUNG SUDRAJAT, NIM 14PSC01673. TEACHING AND LEARNING WRITING ON POEM FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS( case study of the fifth year students of SD Negeri 2 Milir, Kecamatan Gubug, Kabupaten Grobogan, academic year of 2016/2017). THESIS. Graduate Study Program of Widya Dharma University Klaten. 2017. The research is focused on the teaching and learning writing on poem for the elementary students. The formulated study in this research are (1) How is the process of teaching and learning writing on poem for the fifth students of SD Negeri 2 Milir, Kecamatan Gubug, Kabupaten Grobogan? (2) Why is the teaching and learning writing on poem for the fifth students of SD Negeri 2 Milir, Kecamatan Gubug, Kabupaten Grobogan conducted as it is observed? The research has aims at Describing the teaching and learning writing on poem for the fifth students of SD Negeri 2 Milir, Kecamatan Gubug, Kabupaten Grobogan in academic year of 2016/2017. The research was held in SD Negeri 2 Milir, Kecamatan Gubug, Kabupaten Grobogan. The study is qualitative research which the sources of the data are taken from the process of teaching and learning writing on poem, information and also from the document. The researcher applies seven steps in collecting the data namely: observation, textualization, multicolom, segmentation, tematization, proporsionalization, and reduction. While, Analysis the data are also applying in this research, they are: the data were explained, interpreted, summarized, resumed and finally suggested. Based on the result of analyzing the data, it can be concluded that: 1. the teaching and learning writing on poem for the fifth students of SD Negeri 2 Milir, Kecamatan Gubug, Kabupaten Grobogan academic year of 2016/2017 is appropriate with the data analysis, they are: a). The teacher applies apperception by asking the students to sing “lihat kebunku “ song , while it was not mention in the lesson plan. (b) The teacher does not give the pre-test to the students in the process of teaching and learning writing on poem, (c) The material is given directly without mapping the concept to the student by making some groups. (d) The task is also given directly by the teacher without explaining the material and theme, first. (e) The teacher asks to the students about the material from the learning resources while he/she does not prepare it by herself,(f) The teacher asks about the students difficulty but in the fact that she does not check what the correct answer is. (g) The teacher asks the students to write the poem in group without giving explanation about the way to write poem easily (h) The teacher asks the students to read their poem in front of the classroom without giving interpretation about the poem. (i) The teacher asks the students to write the poem individually without giving explanation even though the students still face some difficulties, (j) The teacher marks the students poem without using the scoring rubric, the mark is only based on her feeling, (k) The teacher is less mastering pedagogic competence, it can be seen from some vocabularies that she doesn’t know the meaning of it, (l) The difference of individual potential and character becomes important for the teacher to know it (m) The teacher has not predicted the allotted time, so she has not drawn the conclusion and give the homework
