Abstract
NURUL HIDAYAH, NO. 1311202844. English Education Study Program, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Widya Dharma University, Klaten 2018. Thesis: A Descriptive Study on the Eleventh Year Students’ Writing Mastery of SMAIT Ibnu Abbas Klaten in Academic Year of 2018/2019. This research is mainly aimed to know the students’ mastery in writing of the eleventh year students of SMAIT Ibnu Abbas Klaten in academic year of 2018/2019 and to give positive contribution to the English teaching and learning process of teaching writing. The problem of the thesis is “How is the mastery of writing of the eleventh year students of SMAIT Ibnu Abbas Klaten in academic year of 2018/2019?” In getting the data, the writer gives a test. The subject of the study is the eleventh year students of SMAIT Ibnu Abbas Klaten in academic year of 2018/2019. The number of the population are 142 students that divided into 5 classes. In this study, the writer takes 35 students as the sample. The writer uses proportional random sampling. After the data have been obtained, the writer analyzes them by using scoring rubric. It is presented in form of mean and table. The table is used as the bases to make the description of the data. Then, the result of the students’ mastery is categorized into the quantitative and qualitative category. The result of the study study shows that the mean is 71.57. It is a fact that the problem above can be answered. Finally the writer draws the conclusion that the writing mastery of the eleventh year students of SMAIT Ibnu Abbas Klaten in academic year of 2018/2019 is Good.
